Corrine Hunter, founder and CEO of A Nail Above the Rest, would like to take this time to welcome you to our education programs.
Just like you, she began her career as a Nail Technician in 1980 when she took her training in Dallas, TX. As a Nail Technician, Salon Owner, Nail Competitor, Manufacturing Educator, Competition Nail Judge, her unique perspective on the industry has contributed to her keen interest in furthering educational initiatives within the industry and has led her to opening this training facility and beauty supply store in Central & Northern Alberta. Working in the industry on a daily basis has given Corrine an opportunity to experience all of the challenges faced by estheticians today.

Melissa Motley-Fox, Lacombe Educator
Educator for A Nail Above the Rest since 2016. Owner/Operator of Foxy Nails in Bentley, AB Melissa teaches Beginner and Advanced Nail Technology, troubleshooting and nail art techniques. With her quiet demeanor, she has a way with her students that keep them unruffled while learning the skills needed in our industry. She makes herself available to her students as a mentor long after they finish their beginner programs, this greatly increases their success in the industry on a long term basis.
Melissa's fortitude to development her career goals through advanced training has earned her the exceptional skills that she has today as a nail artist. She works with confidence and enjoys the diverse clientele this has attracted.
Jodi Young, Fort McMurray Educator
I am pleased to announce that Jodi Young of Adorned Sculpted Gel Nails has joined our Team of Educators for our Nail Technician and Manicure Pedicure programs held at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, AB.
Jodi completed the Basic Gel Nail Technician program with Corrine in February 2010. She has been a working nail technician since 2010, while running her own successful business, Adorned Sculpted Nails, in Fort McMurray, AB. She currently offers artificial nails and hand and foot care services in her home studio. Jodi will be teaching our beginner nail technician program’s at Keyano College in 2018. As well as holding 1 on 1 training for our Manicure/Pedicure programs in her salon.
Over the past few years Jodi, has furthered her education with many trips out of town to improve her skill level.
We are all confident that Jodi will take on her new responsibilities with the same enthusiasm and professionalism she has shown so far in her career.
Simone Short, Fort McMurray Educator
I am pleased to announce that Simone Short of Get-Nailed has joined our Team of Educators for our Nail Technician programs & workshops currently being held at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, AB.
Simone has been a Certified Nail Technician through A Nail Above the Rest since August 2010. She has successfully been operating her home-base business “Get-Nailed” since graduating her class. As we begin to rebuild our industry in the city of Fort McMurray we have witnessed great potential in Simon’s talent as a nail technician who can step out of the box and be open to new techniques and have offered her an opportunity to enter our Educator mentoring program.
She has previously worked with our educators behind the scenes at our Sparkle Strong Roadshow, as well as made the drive to come to Lacombe and receive personal instruction from the Founder and CEO of Enailcouture Nail Products, Max Estrada.
